Rev. David Simmons comes to us from Calvary Baptist
Church, Lake City, S. C. He has been married to the former
Peggy Taylor for over 24 years. They have two children.
Joshua Mikell and his wife Laura live in Canton, N. C. and
they both are teachers. The youngest son, Caleb is playing
football for Clemson University. They also have another
member of the family, Hawkeye, their Cocker Spaniel.
Pastor David graduated from Samford University in
Birmingham Ala. in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Religious Education. He also graduated with a Masters in
Divinity Degree, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary,
Louisville, Kentucky, May 1985.
David also served as Chaplain for Lake City High School
Football Team. David is an active member of his community
and he served for 6 years on the Florence County School
Board of Trustees and also chaired the Florence County Parks
and Recreation Commission.
David loves spending time with family playing games and
enjoying fellowship, driving and riding his Harley-Davidson
Road King Motorcycle, College Football, especially Clemson
Tigers, reading, cooking and entertaining.
