SUNDAY MORNING (alias Sunday School) |
|
What is going on with me? What am I thinking? I
finished school 38 years ago and I don't want to
go back. For just a minute think about what fun
you had. Think about how close you were to
others in school, especially your "best"
friends. I want you to think about how you knew
who needed you and what you could do to always
help those in need. You were as involved as you
could be because you wanted it to be this way.
That is the way we are on Sunday mornings ... we love
one another and we actually do care what happens
to each other. We start the morning with
fellowship, welcoming new people and getting to
know each other. We have coffee, juice and some
kind of finger food. You don't have
to eat or drink, just join us for fellowship.
This is my second year as your Sunday School Director.
With the help of Rebecca Greene, we are trying
to make this time more enjoyable. Do you have
any suggestions for us that would make it
interesting enough for you to join us? I know
our lives are busy and we might have to get up
earlier to get to Sunday School, but why not? I
expect great things here at Reedy River with our
Pastor on board to help us-help is the
key word. David is not expected to do everything
it takes for Reedy River to be strong and grow.
When we called a new leader, we made a
commitment to stand with him and to do what
it takes for the Lord to make our church
family strong.
We as a church body should expect our members,
especially our members, to be ready to serve
and minister. Let's make this commitment. I grew
up in a church not more than 5 minutes from us,
but I have never been in a fellowship that is so
loving and friendly. Let's join together and
have fun while we learn and worship at Reedy
River Baptist Church.
