Benjamin F. Hall
         Benjamin F. Hall, 86, retired farmer, died at a Greer nursing home yesterday at 7:05 A.M., after five weeks of serious illness and a long period of declining health.
        A son of the late Benjamin F. and Caroline Smith Hall, he was born in Greenville County June 2, 1876. Most of his life was spent in the Double Springs community. Recently he had lived with his daughter, Mrs. Lucille Barron, 9 Ellendale Avenue.
       His wife, Mrs. Eva Dean Hall, died April 29, 1962.
       He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class.
       Surviving also are 2 other daughters, Mrs. Norman R. Cantrell of Greenville and Mrs. Betty Jo Surrett of Bethel, Ohio; 3 sons, Charles L., Willie A., and Thomas Hall of Greenville; 2 half brothers James Hall of Greenville and John Hall of Pickens; 26 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
       Funeral services will be conducted at Reedy River Baptist Church Saturday morning at 11 A.M., by Rev. S. P. Hester and Rev. Curtis J. Waters. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
       Pallbearers will be Jason Hall, Ercil Cantrell, Andrew Hall, Leroy Hall, Jerry Hall and Harold Hall.
       Honorary escort will be the Men's Bible Class of Reedy River Baptist Church and of Double Springs Baptist Church.
       The body is at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. It will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
       The family is at the home of Mrs. Barron, but will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Dora Hall
    
Mrs. Dora Black Hall of Poinsett Highway, Rt. 7, Greenville, widow of Fred H. Hall, died at her home Friday at 4:30 p.m.
        She was a native of Greenville County, a daughter of Mrs. Mary Hall Rice and the late Henry Black. She spent most of her life in the Reedy River community and lived 11 years in Taylors. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.
        Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James S. (Sarah) Staton of Rt. 3, Easley and Mrs. James Andrew (Judy) Armstrong of Rt. 7, Greenville; six sons, Fred Andrew Hall of Rt. 3, Easley, James Leroy Hall of Greenville, Buddy David Hall of Travelers Rest, Horace F. Hall of Greenville and Paul and Raymond Lee Hall of Rt. 7, Greenville; a brother, J.D. Black of Greenville; two stepsisters, Mrs. Bertie Vaughn and Mrs. Frances Southerland of Greenville; and 17 grandchildren.
        Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church by the Rev. Seth P. Hester and the Rev. J.B. Marchbanks. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
        Pallbearers will be Jerry, Harold, Jason, Glenn and Wayne Hall, Urshell Cantrell, Roger Barrow and Carroll Sutherland.
        The body is at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday. The family is at the home of her son, Jamie L. Hall, 9 Berea Drive.

Mrs. B. F. Hall
    
Mrs. Eva Hammett Hall, 71 of 6 Ellendale Ave, wife of Benjamin (Ben) F. Hall, died at her home yesterday at 12:50 am after several years of declining health and two weeks of serious illness.
     A lifelong resident of Greenville County she had lived in the Double Springs community for some time and later for many years in the Reedy River community, before moving to her latest address two years ago.
     Her parents were the late Elijah and Susan Grice Hammett, natives of South Carolina.
     Mrs. Hall was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church.
     Surviving also are 3 daughters, Mrs. Lucille H. Barron, and Mrs. Ila Cantrell of Greenville and Mrs. Betty Jo H. Surrett of Baltimore, MD; 3 sons, Thomas, Willie A. and Charles Lee Hall of Greenville; 28 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
     A son, Fred Hall, died in Greenville July 29, 1961.
     Funeral services will be conducted at Reedy River Baptist Church Tuesday at 11 am by Rev. Seth P. Hester and Rev. Robert A. Lyles.  Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
     Grandsons will be pallbearers; Andrew Hall, Ercil Cantrell, Roger Barron, Wayne Hall, Jerry Hall, and Jason Hall.
     The Men's Bible Class of Reedy River Baptist Church will be honorary escort.
     The body is at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, but will be placed in the church at 10 am Tuesday.
     The family is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Barron, but will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 pm today.

Fred H. Hall
        Fred Henry Hall, 54, of Rt. 2, Dill Road, Taylors, in the Double Springs community, died at a local hospital at 7:30 a.m. yesterday following nine months illness.
        Mr. Hall was a native of Greenville County and spent most of his life in the Reedy River community until he moved to the Double Springs community 11 years ago. Born Aug. 22, 1906, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Hall. He was an automobile mechanic, presently employed by Bill Cooley's Auto Service.
        He was a member of the Reedy River Baptist Church.
        Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dora Black Hall; six sons, Fred Andrew Hall of Easley, James Leroy Hall of Greenville, Buddy David Hall of Rt. 7, Greenville, Horace Franklin Hall of Rt. 1, Travelers Rest, Paul Edward Hall and Raymond Lee Hall of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Ann and Judy Louise Hall of the home; three brothers, Charlie Lee Hall, Willie A. Hall and Thomas Hall of Greenville; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille H. Barron and Mrs. Ila H. Cantrell of Greenville and Mrs. Betty Jo H. Surrett of Baltimore, Md.; and eight grandchildren.
        Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. S.P. Hester at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Reedy River Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
        Pallbearers will be Jerry Hall, Harold Hall, Jason Hall, Glenn Hall, Roger Barron and Urshell Cantrell.
        Honorary escort will be Frank Marchbanks, T.T. Dill, Edgar League, Dean Stiles, Earl Styles, Dean Edwards, H.P. Moody, Dr. Stanley Coleman and Dr. T.E. Coleman.
        The body will remain at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home until 3:30 p.m. Monday when it will be placed in the church.
         The family will receive friends at the funeral home between 3 and 5 p.m. Sunday.

Geneva Hall
        Funeral services for Miss Geneva Hall, 20, who died at her home at Travelers Rest yesterday morning at an early hour following several months of illness, will be held from the Reedy River Baptist church this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Mr. Brown, of Williamston, will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
      Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Pruitt, Earl Gossett, Walter Bridwell, Frank Marchbanks, Ruthel Duncan and Alvin Hester.
      Miss Hall was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Hall and had spent her entire life in the Travelers Rest community. Prior to her illness she was employed at the Nuckasee Manufacturing company.
      She was a member of the Reedy River Baptist church.
      In addition to her parents, she leaves four sisters, Lucile, Illa, Annie Sue and Betty Joe Hall, and five brothers, Fred, Charlie, Willie, Thomas and Franklin Hall, all of Travelers Rest.
      The body is at the home pending the hour of service.

 
John I. Hamby
         John Isaac Hamby, 71, of 1203 West Parker Road, died Friday, Dec. 13, 1991, at Greenville Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health.
         Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late John Leonard and Myrtle Forrester Hamby. He was a graduate of Parker High School and formerly owned and operated Superior Dry Cleaners on Cedar Lane Road. Mr. Hamby had been a member of City View First Baptist Church for 63 years; president of the Pruitt Memorial Sunday School Class, former president of the Keenagers Senior Group Club of the Church, former deacon and chairman of the Board and served as Brotherhood president, former chairman of the Building Committee and for many years was superintendent of the Sunday School and was also a choir member of the church.
         During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.
         Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Peggy Moody Hamby; twin daughters, and son-in-law, Miss Connie Lee Hamby of the home and Bonnie and Carl V. Enlow, also of the home; a sisters, Mrs. Velma H. Campbell of Greenville; and one grandson, John Christopher Enlow.
         Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Monday at City View First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Reedy River Baptist Church Cemetery, near Travelers Rest.
         The body is at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 PM Sunday and will be placed in the church at 1:30 PM Monday.
         The family is at the residence.

Catherine Grice Hammett
          Mrs. Catherine Grice Hammett, one of the oldest citizens of the Locust Hill section, died yesterday. She was a native of Lincolnton, N.C., but had lived in Locust Hill for over 50 years.
          Survived by daughter, Mrs. A. Hunt of Locust Hill; 2 sisters, Mrs. Martha Odom and Mrs. J.D. Cartee of Greenville and 5 grandchildren.
          Buried: Reedy River Baptist Church 28 Mar 1930.

Mollie Harris
       
    Mrs. Mollie Gwaltney Harris, 72, wife of John Harris of the Reedy River community, Travelers Rest, died at a Greenville Hospital Thursday at 9:20 a.m. following a long period of declining health with six weeks of serious illness.
          Mrs. Harris was a native of Marshall, N.C., and lived in Glenville, W.Va. For some time prior to coming to the Reedy River section 21 years ago. Here parents were the late George G. and Sara Ann White Gwaltney, natives of Virginia and North Carolina, respectively.
          She was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church and of the Mother's Class of the Sunday School.
          In addition to her husband, survivors include three sisters, Mrs. A.E. Cole, Raleigh, N.C., and Misses Lottie and Georgia Gwaltney, both of Marshall, N.C., and one brother, Leon Gwaltney of Asheville, N.C.
          Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church by the Rev. Seth P. Hester. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
          Pallbearers will be Clyde Hester, Will Batson, Bub Hill, Douglas Coleman, Allen Batson and James Jewell. They will meet at the church at 1:50 p.m.
          The members of the Mother's Class of Reedy River Church will compose the honorary escort and will meet at the church at 1:50 p.m.
          The body will remain at the Stilwell Mortuary until the hour of departure for the church. It will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. for one hour before services.

Nancy M. Harrison
            LIBERTY, Dec. 14 -- Mrs. Nancy Marchbanks Harrison, 90, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James W. Davis here late today. She was a widow of the late Joseph T. Harrison.
         Grandmother Harrison, as she was known to many, was near her 91st birthday. She was a member of the Reedy River Baptist church.
         She is survived by the following children: W.Y. Harrison, Wade H. Harrison, H.M. Harrison, G.W. Harrison, Frank P. Harrison, Mrs. W.J. Mullinax and Mrs. James W. Davis. Three brothers, William Marchbanks, Marian B. Marchbanks and Geo. W. Marchbanks survive, as does one sister, Mrs. Annie Ponder. Thirty-eight grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren also survive.
         Funeral services will be held from Reedy River Baptist church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. George Pennell and the Rev. H.A. Knox.

Ida Hart
   
     TRAVELERS REST -- Mrs. Ida Hammett Rider Hart, 90, died at a Greenville Hospital Sunday morning after an illness of the past several years.
       Born in Greenville county, she was daughter of the late Elijah and Catherine Hammett. Mrs. Hart had lived all her life in the Travelers Rest section of upper Greenville county. At the time of her death she lived with a son, Eugene Rider of the Pleasant View Welcome community.
       She was a member of Reedy River Baptist church.
       Mrs. Hart was married twice, first to Herman Rider. Surviving are their four sons, General Rider, Avery Rider, Eugene Rider and Dean Rider, all of Travelers Rest. Her second marriage was to Anthony Hart and surviving are three stepdaughters, Mrs. Etta Mitchell of Greer, Mrs. Cora Odom of Taylors and Mrs. Effie Davis of Laurens; two stepsons, W.W. Hart of Woodruff and D.W. Hart of Greer; and thirteen grandchildren.
       Funeral services will be conducted at Reedy River Baptist Church Tuesday at 4 p.m. by Rev. S.P. Hester. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
       Pallbearers are B.F. McDaniel, Norwood Childs, Troy Grant, Jim Bragg, Leon Looper and Rev. Lynell Peterson.
       After 3 p.m. today the body will be at the son of her home, Dean Rider, on Tubbs Mountain Road.
       O'Dell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Hawkins Infant
     
Funeral services for the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney S. Hawkins of Griffin, Ga., were held yesterday afternoon at the graveside in the Reedy River Baptist church cemetery near Travelers Rest.
       Mrs. Hawkins before marriage was Miss Elizabeth Hill of Greenville.
       Besides the parents, the child is survived by two brothers, the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Hill, and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. J. B. Hawkins.
 
Alice Kennemore Hawkins
        Mrs. Alice Kennemore Hawkins, 75, widow of Frank Hawkins, of Route 4, Travelers Rest, died at a Marietta hospital at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday after a long period of declining heath and a serious illness of four weeks.
       Mrs. Hawkins was a daughter of the late Asa and Savannah Green Kennemore and was born November 22, 1883 in Greenville County. At one time she lived in the Forrestville community but for the past 50 years had made her home in the Little Texas community near Travelers Rest. Her husband, Frank Hawkins, died October 5, 1930.
       She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.
       Surviving are 1 son, Ansel Hawkins and 1 daughter, Mrs. Grace H. Kelly, both of Travelers Rest; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; 1 brother, Arthur Kennemore of Greenville and 1 half-sister, Mrs. Perry Batson of Travelers Rest.
       Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Paul Tankersley, the Rev. Don Howell and the Rev. J. A. Stewart at 11 a.m. Friday at the Clearview Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Reedy River Baptist Church Cemetery.
       Nephews will be pallbearers: Edward Phillips, Willard Kennemore, James Kennemore, Grady Hawkins, Thomas Bridwell and Frank Bridwell.
       Honorary escort will be members of the Mother's Class and of the Willing Workers Class of the Sunday School, with deacons of the church and Dr. T. E. Coleman. The body will be taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs Grace Kelly on State Park Rd. in the Little Texas Community at 11 a.m. today.

 Ann Elizabeth Roe Hawkins
     
     Funeral services for Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Roe Hawkins, 70, prominent matron of Paris Mountain township, whose death occurred at her home at 11:20 o'clock Friday night following several years of declining health, will be held Sunday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at Reedy River Baptist Church. The services will be conducted by. Dr. Frank K. Pool, assisted by Rev. J. Sam Shaw. The body will be laid to rest on the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.
         The following will serve as the pallbearers and will meet at the residence at 5 o'clock: Fred Roe, Henry Roe, Hubert Roe, James B. Hawkins, Ford Thackston and Hawkins H. (W.?) Ashmore.
         Mrs. Hawkins was a daughter of the late Henry D. and Mary (Gibson) Roe and was born and reared in the O'Neil section of Greenville county. Some 45 years ago she moved to Paris Mountain township.
         Mrs. Hawkins was a devoted member of the Reedy River Baptist church, and was a regular attendant as long as her health permitted, maintaining an interest in all affairs of the church as long as she lived.
         She is survived by her husband, Walter C. Hawkins.
         Also surviving are two brothers, J. Eugene and Joel T. Roe and one sister, Mrs. Della R. Wever.
         Pending the hour of service the body is at the home.

Annice Hawkins
     
Mrs. Annice Batson Hawkins, 74, of 1 Hawkins Creek Road, Rt. 7, Greenville, widow of Herman C. Hawkins, died Sunday.
        Born in Greenville County, daughter of the late Hosea Wesley and Leatha Rainey Batson, she was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church.
        Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Johnny Weems of Greenville; a son, Harold H. Hawkins of Greenville; a sister, Mrs. Ford Hester of Greenville; three brothers, Jones W. and Hosea C. Batson of Greenville and Woodrow W. Batson of Ware Shoals; four grandchildren and a great grand-child.
        Funeral services will be Tuesday at a time to be announced at Reedy River Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
        The family is at the home of Mrs. Weems, 1 Hawkins Creek Road.
        The body is at The Mackey Mortuary, where the family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Claude Hawkins
        Claude David Hawkins, 81, of No. 8, Texas Ave., died Saturday.
        He was retired from Zonolite Division of W.R. Grace & Co., Travelers Rest.
        Surviving are his wife, Margaret P. Hawkins, a son, Truman Hawkins of Myrtle Beach; and daughters, Lois Deanovich, Doris Marquis and Beatrice Rainey, all of Greenville, and Patricia Martin of Silver Springs, Md.
        Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Reedy River Baptist Church.
        Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Sunday at The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest.

H. C. Hawkins
     
Herman C. Hawkins, 73, of Rt. 7, Greenville, died yesterday at 6 a.m. in Austin, Tex., following a sudden attack. He was visiting his daughter, Mrs. Johnny Weems of Austin (Texas), when he suffered the attack.
        Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Jim Barney Hawkins and Lurana Stewart Hawkins.
        Before his retirement, Mr. Hawkins was associated with Greenville Ice and Fuel Co.
        He was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class of the church. He was a veteran of World War I.
         Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annice Batson Hawkins; one daughter, Mrs. Johnny Weems of Austin (Texas); a son, Harold H. Hawkins of Greenville; three sisters, Mrs. Houston Batson of Travelers Rest, Miss Ruth Hawkins and Mrs. Mae H. Watson, both of Rt. 7, Greenville; six brothers, J.C. Hawkins, Dayton Hawkins and C. Eugene Hawkins, all of Greenville, Barney Stewart Hawkins of Griffin, Ga., Frank Hawkins of Lavonia, Mich., and Boone Hawkins of Rt. 7, Greenville; and three grandchildren.
         Funeral services will be conducted today at 4 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church by Rev. S. P. Hester and Rev. W. D. Weathers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
         Pallbearers, meeting at the church at 3:45 p.m., will be Clarence Keeler, Arthur, Don and Drew (Dreugh) Batson and Jimmy Hawkins and Carroll League.
         Honorary escort, meeting at the church at 3:50 p.m., will be the deacons and Men's Bible Class of the church.
         The body is at the home of Boone H. Hawkins and Miss Ruth Hawkins. It will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. today.
         The Mackey Mortuary is in charge.

Isabell Hawkins
        Miss Isabell Hawkins, 67, Travelers Rest, died at her home there yesterday morning at 11 o'clock from an illness extending over a period of several months. Her condition had seemed greatly improved during the last few weeks, however, and her death was unexpected. Miss Hawkins was well known in Travelers Rest and throughout Greenville county as she had spent her entire life at the place of her death. She was from childhood a devoted member of the Reedy River Baptist church.
        The deceased is survived by one brother, L.J. Hawkins, two nephews, Bub and Frank Hawkins and one niece, Mrs. J.W. Bridwell, all of Travelers Rest.
        Funeral services will be conducted from the Reedy River Baptist church this afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. Mr. Wood. Interment will be in the family plot in the churchyard. The following have been asked to serve as pallbearers: J.N. Batson, G.W. Bridwell, C.C. Smith, Arthur Henderson, J.R. Keeler and W.B. Coker.

J. Barney Hawkins
          J. Barney Hawkins, a highly respected citizen of Paris Mountain township, died at his home yesterday after week's illness. Mr. Hawkins was a popular man throughout his section and well known in Greenville. He never aspired to any official position in politics, preferring the quiet life of a farmer, of which vocation he made a success.
        He was a veteran of the war between the States, having been a member of Earle's battery of artillery.
        Mr. Hawkins was seventy-five years of age. He leaves surviving him eight children: Mrs. M.A. Talley, Mrs. Josephine Green, Mrs. Hattie League, Mrs. Alice Ashmore, Mrs. Ella Thackston, J.B., W.C. and J.B. Hawkins.
        For many years, Mr. Hawkins was a deacon of Reedy River church, and the funeral services will be held there today at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Edward Ashmore.
