Beattie J. Wade
TRAVELERS REST
-- Beattie J. Wade, 64,
of Rt. 4, New Circle Dr., husband of Lillian Davis Wade, died
Tuesday morning at the home.
He was born in Greenville County and
was a son of the late Beattie Janual and Lilly Iola Epps Wade. He
was a veteran of World War II. He also was a member of Reedy River
Baptist Church.
He was employed as a machine
repairman specialist at ARA Food Services in Greenville, S.C.
Surviving in addition to his wife are
one son, Beattie (Mike) Wade of Travelers Rest; one sister, Mrs.
Roxie Waldrop of Travelers Rest; two grandchildren.
Pall bearers serving are Forrest
Duckett, Thomas Toney, James Maddox, Earl McAlister, Gilbert
Phillips, James Jones, Paul Vest and Harold Page.
Conducting funeral services are the Rev. S.P. Hester and Rev. Ray Scruggs. Funeral services will be held 2
p.m. Thursday at the Reedy River Baptist Church. The family will
receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 9 at the Howze
Mortuary. Burial will be in Reedy River Baptist Church Cemetery.

Miss Dovie V. Wade
Dovie Viola Wade, 84, of Homestead Farms,
Duncan Road, died March 2, 1994, at her home.
She was a member of Reedy River Baptist
Church and a former member of Berea First Baptist Church where she
taught in the primary department of the Sunday school for many
years.
She was a graduate of Draughns Business
College and retired as a supervisor after 37 years with Stone
Manufacturing Co.
Surviving are a sister, Belle Wade McKinney
of Greenville; and a brother, General P. Wade of Greenville.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Reedy River
Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation: 10
to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
The family is at the home of Belle
McKinney, 410 Duncan Road, Greenville.

E.W. Wade
E.W. Wade, 80, well known resident, died
Wednesday night at the home of his son, J.B. Wade, on the Buncombe
road at Thackston's dairy. Mr. Wade had been confined to his room
about two weeks, although he had been in ill healthy for two
years. He had lived in Greenville county all of his life and was a
member of Reedy River Baptist church.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.E.
McJunckin and Mrs. W.A. Edwards, Greenville; Mrs. T.T. Hudgens,
Travelers Rest; two sons, J.B. and R.P. Wade, both of this city,
also one brother, B.G. Wade, of Greenville.
Funeral services for Mr. Wade will be held
tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock from the Reedy River Baptist
church, Rev. F.K. Poole officiating. Interment will be made in the
church cemetery. Six grandsons of Mr. Wade will act as
pallbearers.

Mrs. Eva Batson Wade,
88, widow of Reuben P. Wade of Rt. 3, Duncan Road, died Friday.
Born in Travelers Rest, daughter of the
late Joseph A. and Adaline Chapman Batson, she was a member of
Reedy River Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, General Wade of
Greenville; two daughters, Miss Dovie Wade and Mrs. Marion
McKinney of Greenville; three grandchildren, two
great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at The
Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, with burial in Reedy River Baptist
Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Eva Middleton Wade
Mrs. Eva Middleton Wade, 91, of 403
Portsmouth Drive, widow of Henderson Earle Wade, died Friday. Born
in Greenville County, a daughter of the late William Perry and
Marinda Ballew Middleton, she was a member of Union Bleachery
Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Marie W.
Hinton of Taylors, Mrs. Clymena W. McKinney and Mrs. Frances W.
McKinney of Greenville and Mrs. Rosa W. Campbell of Greer; a
sister Mrs. Lula M. Batson of Travelers Rest; 13 grandchildren; 21
great grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Union
Bleachery Baptist Church. Burial will be in Reedy River Baptist
Church Cemetery near Travelers Rest. The body is at the Thomas
McAfee Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m.
Sunday.

Henderson E. Wade
Henderson Earle Wade, 50, well-known
resident of the Paris Mountain township, died Thursday night at 9
o'clock at his home on the Buncombe road beyond Union Bleachery
after an illness of one day. He was a member of Berea Baptist
church.
Surviving Mr. Wade are his wife, six
children, and the following brothers and sisters, Reuben and
Beattie Wade of the same section, Mrs. Arthur Edwards and Mrs.
Edward McJunkin, both of City View., and Mrs. Thomas Hudgens, of
Travelers Rest.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at
noon at the Reedy River Baptist church conducted by the Rev. W.P.
Hall, assisted by the Rev. F.K. Pool and interment will be in the
adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Wade for the last 12 years had made his
home on the Buncombe road where he engaged in farming.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva M.
Wade, one son, T.J. Wade, and five daughters, Mrs. Eugene Hinton,
Miss Slymena Wade, Miss Louise Wade, Miss Rosa Wade and Miss
Frances Wade, all of this county.
His father, E.W. Wade, who made his home
with him, also survives.
The following persons will serve as
pallbearers: Joe Jones, Clarence Jones, Robert Batson, Jim
McJunkin, Toy Edwards and R.P. Jones.

Buncombe road, died at his home at 4:15 o'clock yesterday morning.
Mr. Wade had gradually been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Wade was a son of the late E. H. and Juliet
Burns Wade. He was a native and lifelong resident of this county.
He was a member of Reedy River Baptist church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillie Epps Wade;
one daughter, Mrs. J. C. Waldrop; one son, Beattie Wade, Jr.; one
brother, R. P. Wade; three sisters, Mr. Tom Hodgens, Mrs. Hattie
Edwards and Mrs. Mary McJunkin.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 o'clock
this afternoon at Reedy River Baptist church, conducted by Dr.
Frank K. Pool and Rev. S. J. Gardner, and interment will be in the
church cemetery.

Alvin Bridwell, LaFayette Watkins, Gilbert Phillips and King
Thackston.
Comprising the escort of honor will be: Roy Pace,

grandson, Mike Wade of Travelers Rest, who was reared in the home;
a sister, Mrs. Bettie Wade of Greenville; and a brother, R.C. Epps
of Greenville.

Reuben
Pinckney Wade, 86, of Duncan Road, Rt. 2, Greenville, died at his
home yesterday at 2:15 a.m. after several years of declining
health.
He was born in the Belvue
community near Travelers Rest, a son of the late Elijah and Juliet
Burns Wade. He was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church and the
extension Dept. of the Sunday School. He was a member of the WOW
and was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Eva Batson Wade; two daughters, Mrs. Marion (Belle) McKinney of
Greenville and Miss Dovie Wade of the home; a son, General P. Wade
of the home; and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Edwards of Greenville; and
two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be
conducted today at 3 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church by Rev.
S.P. Hester and Rev. Wade F. Griffin. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.

Mrs. Fannie McClure Wakefield, 68, of 1A Woodland Homes, widow of
Guy Forest Wakefield, died Friday.
Born in Tryon, N.C.,
daughter of the late John Taylor and Janie Poole McClure, she
lived in Sarasota, Fla., for five years and spent most of her life
in Greenville.
She was a member of Maple
Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. Sybil W. Cox of Greenville; a son, Horace L. Wakefield of
Sarasota; two sisters, Mrs. Margie M. Hyde of Miami, Fla.; and
Mrs. Porter Batson of Greenville; a brother, Jack Floyd McClure of
Greenville; and two grandchildren.

Rest. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Guy Forest
Wakefield, 60, of 1-A Berkley Ave., retired building
superintendent, died at a local hospital at 10:30 a.m. Saturday
after an illness of one year.
Born in Greenville
County Aug. 3, 1901, he was a son of the late Thomas J. and Phenia
Westmoreland Wakefield. Most of his life was spent in Greenville,
where for some years he was a superintendent for Oeland and Sons,
contractors. For three and one-half years, he made his home in
Sarasota, Fla., and returned to Greenville one year ago.
During World War I,
he served with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of
the Reedy River Baptist Church.
Surviving are his
wife, Mrs. Fannie McClure Wakefield; a son, Horace L. Wakefield of
Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Cox of Greenville; a
brother, Thomas Wakefield of Greenville, and four sisters, Mrs.
Clara Graham, Greenville, Mrs. Craig Bibb of Anderson, Mrs. Odell
Wilbanks of Mountain Rest and Mrs. Elizabeth W. Miller of Greer,

100 Waldrop Drive, died Feb. 9, 1997, at North Greenville
Hospital.
He retired from ARA Vending Co. and donated the
land for Greenville Independent Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Roxie Wade Waldrop of the
home; two sisters, Ethel Waldrop Barnett of Greenville and Mary
Waldrop Phillips of Norfolk, Va.; and two brothers, A. Earl
Waldrop of Fairplay and J. Benson Waldrop of Greenville.

Lisa Hughes Waldrop, 52, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at McCall
Hospice House, after a long illness.
She is survived by one daughter,
Kerry Cole; three grandchildren, Brooke Dodgens, Kyleigh and
Cole Eddleman; and a sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Carl
Dix. God blessed her with special friends and caregivers, Darren
Stephenson and Lois Reid. She was predeceased by her parents,
Doris and Glen Hughes.
A graveside memorial will be held at Reedy River
Baptist Church Cemetery on Wed., Apr. 13 at 3 p.m.

Lee Watkins
Joe L. Watkins, 76, a lifelong resident of
Greenville County, died unexpectedly at 3 p.m. Tuesday while
engaged in work near his home.
Mr. Watkins was a son of the late Z.B. and
Alice Farr Watkins, members of Greenville County families, and
engaged in farming and the mercantile business all of his life,
his residence being on the Duncan Rd.
He was a member of the Reedy River Baptist
Church.
His wife, Mrs. Juanita Thackston Watkins,
survived him, with one son, B. Furman Watkins of this city.
Also surviving are two sisters: Miss
Mildred Watkins of Greenville, and Mrs. George Lathem of Pickens
County.
Funeral services will be held at the Mackey
Mortuary Saturday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Seth Hester,
pastor of Reedy River Baptist Church. Interment will be made on
the family plot in the Reedy River Baptist Church cemetery.
The body will remain at the Mackey Mortuary
pending the hour of the service.

Jasper Watson
Jasper E. Watson, one of Greenville county's
outstanding and substantial citizens, died at his home at
Travelers Rest this morning at 9.25 o'clock, following an illness
extending over 18 months. He was 67 years of age.
Mr. Watson was a lifelong resident of Travelers
Rest, a son of the late J. Matt Watson and Mrs. Laura Southern
Watson. For the past 27 years he had served as postmaster at
Travelers Rest, where by his genial disposition and accommodating
service he had won hundreds of friends. In his earlier life he
engaged in farming, but had retired from his activities in this
line some years ago. Mr. Watson was a member of Cooper lodge No.
282 A. F M., and at the time of his death held the office of
secretary of his lodge. He was a past master of Cooper lodge, No.
282.
The following sons and daughters survive: P.
Terrell Watson, of Travelers Rest; J. Matt Watson and J. D.
Watson. both of Greenville; the Rev. J. N. Watson, of Gray Court;
Miss Flora Watson, and Mrs. D. E Smith, of Travelers Rest; Mrs. W
H. League, Mrs. E. W. Smith and Mrs. W. V. Granger, all of
Greenville.
Two brothers, the Rev. S. N. Watson, of
Bladenboro, N. C., and Mr. P. B. Watson, of Travelers Rest
and one sister, Mrs. H. J. Cunningham, of Travelers Rest, also
survive in addition to 18 grandchildren and a wide family
connection.
Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be
held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Travelers Rest Baptist
church, conducted by the Rev. R. P. Hamby, the Rev. P. H. Hughes
and the Rev. S. W. Jolly.
The following will serve as the active
pallbearers: Messrs. R. E. Benson, H. A. Southern, J. L. Watson,
T. J. Watson, W. N. Watson and S. W. Scruggs.

Lee Watson
Jesse Lee Watson, 72, of 104 North Franklin
road, Sans Souci, died at his home Sunday afternoon at 6 o'clock
following an illness of several months. Mr. Watson was a native of
the Travelers Rest community, a son of the late John J. and
Elizabeth (Cunningham) Watson and had engaged in farming during
his active years.
He was a member of the Reedy River Baptist
church near Travelers Rest.
Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Cora Williams Watson, and by three sons and four daughters as
follows: William H. Watson, Jay. J. Watson, Heyward C. Watson,
Mrs. T.P. Vaughan, Mrs. M.E. Crisp, Mrs. J.B. Staton and Mrs.
Kenneth Tate.
Two brothers and six sisters, A.W. Watson,
T.J. Watson, Mrs. Thomas Benson, Mrs. G.P. McKinney, Mrs. J.A.
Raffield, Mrs. J.H. Gilreath, Mrs. D.L. Duckworth and Mrs. Ellen
Harden also survive, together with six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday
morning at 11 o'clock at the Reedy River Baptist church, conducted
by Dr. Frank. K. Pool, Dr. Leon M. Latimer and Rev. Olin Strange,
and the interment will be in the family plot in the church
cemetery.
Until the hour of the service the body will
remain at the Mackey mortuary.

League Watson, 84, died Tuesday.
Born in Greenville, daughter of the late James
Barney and Laurana Stewart Hawkins, she was a member of Reedy
River Baptist Church.
Surviving are two stepsons, Bruck Watson of Aiken
and Rex Watson of Greenville; three brothers, Frank Hawkins of
Azalia, Mich., Barney Hawkins of Griffin, Ga., and Boone Hawkins
of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Batson of Travelers Rest
and Miss Ruth Hawkins of Greenville; two grandchildren, who were
reared. in the home, Mrs. Joyce Achepolf of Columbia and C. E.
League, Jr., of Crownsville, Maine; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday

Watson
Thomas J. Watson, 77, of Travelers
Rest, died Monday at 10 a.m. at the home on Watson Road. He had
been in declining health for some time.
Mr. Watson was born and reared in
Travelers Rest, a son of the late John J. and Elizabeth (Cuningham)
Watson. For many years he was depot agent for the Greenville and
Northern Railway at Travelers Rest and later served as substitute
mail carrier from the Travelers Rest post office. Mr. Watson also
engaged in farming for many years.
He was a member of Reedy River
Baptist Church and was a member of the Men's Bible Class as long
as his health permitted. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eva Stroud
Watson; one daughter, Mrs. H. E. Barnett of Greenville; three
sons, T. James Watson Jr. of Taylors, Paul Watson of Simpsonville,
and Jack N. Watson of Travelers Rest; 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at
Reedy River Baptist Church Tuesday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Seth P.
Hester. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Pallbearers will be W. N. Watson Jr.,
Will H. Watson, Merle McKinney, James Benson, Roy Anderson and W.
N. Cooper.
Members of the Men's Bible class of
the church and Dr. L. I. McCarrell, Dr. John H. Holliday and Dr.
T. E. Coleman will compose the honorary escort.
The body is at The Mackey Mortuary,

Clarence F. Webb
Clarence
Franklin Webb, 76, died yesterday at 1:20 a.m. at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. James E. Howard of Pistol Club Road, Rt. 3, Easley,
after a period of declining health.
A son of the late Murda
and Sara Meadows Webb, he was born at Asheville, N.C., and lived
his early life there. He had lived in Greenville for 39 years and
had lived with his daughter for several years. Before his
retirement he was connected with Southern Pile Fabric Co. as
overseer of yarn room. Mr. Webb was a member of West End Baptist
Church of Asheville. His wife, Mrs. Clota Callahan Webb, died in
1933.
Surviving also are one
son, James V. Webb of Fulda, Germany; three sisters, Mrs. Eli
Laney and Mrs. Louiza Gillespie of Hot Springs, N.C., and Mrs. Mae
Fowler of Asheville; one brother, Norman Webb of Greenville; four
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be
conducted by Rev. S.F. McAuley at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home
Wednesday at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Reedy River Baptist Church
cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Earl
Vaughn, J.W. Lunsford, Curtis Watson, Robert Moore, Dock Odom,

John Marshall “Red” Weems, age 53, of
Route 7, Hawkins Creek Road, husband of Rose Ann Hawkins Weems, died Friday
at his home.
He was born in Cameron, Texas, son of the
late Marshall and Estelle Fikes Weems. He was a member of Reedy
River Baptist Church and was employed by Gower Corp. as a truck
driver. He was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class
at Reedy River Baptist Church and a Mason and a member of Cooper
Lodge #282 A.F.M. in Travelers Rest.
Surviving in addition to his are two sons, Charles Samuel Weems of Taylors and Herman Marshall
Weems of Greenville; one daughter, Annice Charlene Simmons of
Greenville; one brother, A.R. Weems of Austin, Texas; four sisters, Audrey
Hicks and Betty Ozuna, both of Houston, Texas; Agnes Holland of
Cameron, Texas; and Harriet Sims of Elton, W.Va.; and two
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday
at 3 p.m.
at Reedy River Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Martin and Rev. S.P.
Hester officiating. Burial will follow with Masonic Rites in the
church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Hawkins, Jim

John Ellis
Wells, 65, retired farmer of Travelers Rest, died in a Columbia
hospital yesterday following a long period of declining health. He
was a native and life long resident of the Travelers Rest section
and a member of the Reedy River Baptist Church. His wife Mrs. Ella
Bayne Wells, died 22 years ago.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs.
Russell Hart, Mrs. G. C. Moody, both of Travelers Rest, Mrs. R. S.
Saxon, Greenville, Mrs. Lyle Friend of Neosho, Mo., and Miss Rosie
Wells, Clinton, three sons; Ralph E. Wells Travelers Rest, Edgar
Wells, Greenville, J. E. Wells Jr., Union; three sisters; Mrs.
Singleton Bayne, Mrs. Sallie Rochester, both of Travelers Rest,
Mrs. Ray Turner, Ohio and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were
incomplete last night but will be announced later by the Stillwell
Mortuary, Travelers Rest.

Lethia Mae Batson Wigington,
74, of 180 Pilot Road, died May 17, 1998.
Born May 9, 1924 in Greenville,
she was a daughter of the late Gaines M. and Mattie Lou Turner
Batson.

Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband,
Claude L. Wigington of the home; three daughters, Claudia M. Hamby
of Blue Ridge, and Lily W. Ayers and Mattie Lou Lassen of

Brown Williams
Brown Williams, Greenville
county farmer, who was knocked down and fatally injured by an
interurban car near Piedmont Saturday night, later rushed to the
here to the city hospital, died early yesterday morning. His body
was fearfully bruised by the compact (sic) and his life
despaired of from the first. The body was removed to the
undertaking establishment of Mackey & Son yesterday morning, where
Coroner Black impanelled (sic) a jury who viewed the body
and later deferred the inquest until next Saturday.
Funeral services will be held
at Reedy River church tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock, interment
will be made in the burying ground of that church. The deceased is
survived by his wife and six children.

Funeral services for Donald
Coleman Williams, 8-year-old son of Mrs. Mettie Patton Williams
and the late Jay V. Williams, will be held this afternoon at 3
o'clock from Reedy River Baptist church. Rev. S.G. Gardner will
officiate and interment will be in the family plot in the
adjoining cemetery.
The death of the boy occurred
at the home in the Berea section yesterday morning at 7:30
o'clock. He was born in Pickens county.
Surviving are his mother, two
brothers, Rudolph and Raymond Williams; his maternal grandmother,
Mrs. Carrie Patton, and his paternal grandfather, L.C. Williams.

Funeral services for Jay V. Williams, whose death occurred in the
Veterans hospital at Oteen, N.C., at 10 o'clock Thursday morning
following an extended illness, will be held this afternoon at 3:30

will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Joe Foster. Interment will be
in the church cemetery.

Mr. Williams was a son of
the late L.B. Williams and the late Artie Edens Williams and was
36 years of age. He was born and reared near Dacusville in Pickens
county and lived there until three years ago when he located in
Greenville county. The family residence is above Travelers Rest on
the Asheville highway. Mr. Williams attended the Baptist church.
He served in the United States Navy from 1923 to 1929.
Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Mettie Patton Williams; three sons, Donald, Rudolph and
Raymond Williams, Travelers Rest; his father, L.B. Williams,
Travelers Rest; four sisters, Mrs. G.R. Mayfield and Mrs. W.C.
Mayfield, Marietta; Mrs. Rufus Boyd and Mrs. W.J. Medlin,
Dacusville, and two brothers, Lawrence Williams, Dacusville, and
Clyde Williams, Greenville.

Funeral services for John Harley
(Fish) Williams, 25, resident of the Travelers Rest community
whose death occurred at a local hospital at 9:45 o'clock yesterday
morning, following three weeks' illness, will be held this
afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Reedy River Baptist church,
conducted by the Rev. Dr. Frank K. Pool, and the interment will be
made in the adjoining cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers,
and meet at the residence of Mrs. Ellen Casey, by whom he was
reared, and with whom he made his home, promptly at 4 o'clock;
Kenneth Tate, J. B. Trotter, William Howard, William Watson, Olin
Burns and Ralph Robinson.
Mr. Williams was a native of Georgia, but
had lived since childhood in this county, and had hosts of friends
who will sorrow at his passing. For the past two years he had been
in the employ of the Renfrew Mills, where he was held in the
highest esteem.
His mother, Mrs. Myra Quinn Williams, survives
him, together with two brothers: Paul Williams, of Shelby, N. C.;
Palmer Williams, of Gastonia, N. C., and three sisters: Mrs. E. S.
Davis, and Mrs. B. F. Sorgee, of Fayetteville, N. C., and his
foster-mother, Mrs. Ellen Casey.
He was a member of Reedy River Baptist church.
Pending the hour of the service, the body will be
at Mrs. Casey's residence.

Mettie Patton Williams, 84, of 12 Zarline St.,
City View community, died April 8, 1996, at her home following a
period of declining health
She retired from Dunean Mill and was a member of
City View First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the
Sunday school.
Surviving are two sons, James Rudolph "Bill"
Williams and Raymond C. Williams, both of Greenville; five
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at City View First
Baptist Church with burial in Reedy River Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah Williams, widow of the late A.J.
Williams of Travelers Rest, died at the home of her son, W.F.
Casey, on Wednesday night after several months' illness. Cancer of
the face was the cause of her death. Mrs. Williams was seventy-one
years of age. She leaves two sons, W.F. Casey and Brown Williams.
She was a member of Reedy River church and her funeral will be
held at that church Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, Rev. T.E.
Seago, the pastor, officiating.

yesterday morning at at early hour at the home of her parents, 10
Thomas street, Monaghan mill.

survived by one sister and one brother, Ola Mae and Eugene Wilson
and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson, all of
Greenville.

Ruby Wilson
Mrs. Ruby S. Wilson, 40, died
Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at her home in the Berea community after a
long illness.
She was a daughter of the late Jim
and Ethel Smith Hendrix, and was born in Pickens County but had
lived most of her life in Greenville.
At one time she was a resident of the
Union Bleachery but for the past three years had lived in the
Berea community.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of St. John
Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis
Wilson, one son and one daughter, Albert E. Wilson and Miss Ola
Mae Wilson of Greenville; two brothers, Wade Rice and Loren T.
Rice of Greenville; her step-father, Albert Rice and a
half-brother, Harry Rice, both of Asheville.
Funeral services will be conducted by
the Rev. J.N. Wrenn Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Thomas McAfee
Funeral Home and interment will be in Reedy River Baptist Church
cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers will be
D.W. Spearman, G.P. Cunningham, Gary E. Norris and J.R. Dempsey.

Greenville; and a nephew with whom she lived, David Campbell of

Davis Wynn, who died the home in the Berea section at an early

Baptist church.
Survivors include three
daughters, Mrs. Milton Burdine, Mrs. W.L. Pearson and Miss
Elizabeth Wynn; four sons, J.T. Wynn, T.A. Wynn, C.C.
Wynn and F.R. Wynn; two sisters, Mrs. F.M.E. Martin and Mrs. A.B.
Hodgens, and one brother, W.T. Davis. Eleven grandchildren also
survive.
The body is at the family home,
awaiting the hour of the service.
